Welcome To Guided Psychiatry

Meet Dr. Sophianne Schwab

Dr. Sophianne Schwab is a compassionate, triple board-certified physician with deep expertise in pediatrics, psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry. Her journey began at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, where she discovered her passion for psychiatric care after rotating on an inpatient child psychiatry floor. She went on to complete her distinguished triple board residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), where her dedication and leadership earned her the honor of serving as Chief Resident during her final year.

Dr. Schwab's commitment to mentoring others led her to stay at CCHMC as Assistant Program Director of the triple board residency program, where she found great joy in nurturing and guiding emerging physicians. Her path then led her to Denver, where she dedicated herself to helping individuals struggling with eating disorders across all levels of care—from intensive inpatient, residential, and partial hospital programs. Her passion for this work took her across the country, bringing hope and specialized care to those who needed it most.

Most recently, as Chief Medical Officer of a multisite program offering Partial Hospital and Intensive Outpatient care, Dr. Schwab devoted herself to supporting individuals facing complex trauma, eating disorders, and mood and anxiety challenges. She proudly led the creation of an innovative multisite Spravato program that thoughtfully combines the healing power of medication with integrated therapy, bringing lasting hope to those battling treatment-resistant depression.

At Guided Psychiatry, Dr. Schwab offers a sanctuary for healing, where hope meets expertise. Using a thoughtful combination of medication management, evidence-based psychotherapy, and cutting-edge esketamine treatments, she walks alongside you as you navigate the challenges of mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and complex trauma. Shobha Limbu, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
slimbu@guidedpsychiatry.com

Shobha's journey to psychiatric care didn't follow a straight line — and that's exactly what makes her the provider she is today.

Before she ever set foot in a clinical setting, Shobha was studying Cinema and Television Arts in Los Angeles with dreams of becoming a documentary filmmaker. What drew her to that work was simple: a genuine fascination with people and their stories. That curiosity never faded — it just found a new home in psychiatry.

Over the past 8 years, Shobha has worked across many corners of mental health care — as an EMT, an inpatient nurse, and as clinical faculty in psychiatric nursing. Each role taught her something different about how people experience mental health challenges, and how meaningful it is to feel truly heard by your provider. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Psychiatry and Mental Health, both from Rush University.

Today, Shobha's practice is built on one core principle: that effective care starts with listening. She takes time to understand the many facets of her clients' lives — their relationships, their history, their goals — so that together, they can build a treatment plan and medication management strategy that actually fits who they are.

Outside of the clinic, Shobha is usually planning her next trip, training at the gym, or rewatching Derry Girls with a bowl of ube ice cream. She believes in balance and brings that same philosophy to the care she provides.

Shobha would love to support you on your mental health journey. Book an appointment with Shobha to get started!
